Mr. William “Bill” Palmer Shubert, age 58, of Bunker Hill
DR, Blairsville, passed away, Monday, January 2, 2012 at Union General
Hospital after a brief illness. Bill was born August 15, 1953 in Ft.
Belvour, VA son of the late James and Juanita Russell Shubert. He had
lived in this area for the past 30 years. He loved Riding Motorcycles
and building things. Bill was preceded in death by a daughter, Ashley
Shubert in 2009. He attended New Hope Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth Shubert of Blairsville,
children, James Shubert, JR and his fiancé, Jasmine Jones of
Blairsville, Angie and D.J. DeJoseph of Blairsville, Billie and Jeff
Daniel of Blairsville, brother, James Shubert of Daytona, FL, sisters,
Judith Shubert of Daytona, FL and Sheila Abrams of Daytona, FL,
grandchildren, Dillion Shubert, Josh Daniel, Jonah Daniel, Kenndy
Daniel, Bailey Daniel, Madison Garrett, Ally Jo Shubert, Jaykob Shubert
Madison Snow, and baby boy Shubert.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 6, 2012 at
5:00 p.m. at Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Leon McDonald
officiating. Interment will be in Meadow View Cemetery. In lieu of
flowers make donations to help defray medical and funeral expenses. The
family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday evening from
6:00 until 9:00 p.m.

Mr. Odie Ray Williamson, age 84, of New Ellenton, SC,
formerly of Gum Log RD, Young Harris, passed away Sunday, January 8,
2011 at Pepperhill Nursing Home in Aiken, SC. Odie was born June 12,
1927 in Towns County son of the late Gus and Mae Messer Williamson. He
loved fishing and woodworking, and always had a smile. He was a loving
husband, father, grandfather and greatgrandfather. Odie was a WWII US
Navy Veteran. He retired from the Dupont Company in 1979. Odie was
preceded in death by a sister, Eula Mae Carringer. He was a member of
Many Forks Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Wanda Pendland Williamson of New
Ellenton, SC, sons, Larry and Sylvia Williamson of Conyers, Jeffrey and
Deborah Williamson of Aiken, SC, sister, Louella and Gene Stuman of
Young Harris, GA, brother, Phil Williamson of Blairsville, GA, four
grandchildren, Karla and Alan Edwards, Kris and Jenny Williamson, Eric
Williamson and Casey Williamson, five great grandchildren, Ryann, Allie,
Cameron, Caylee and Christine.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2011 at
11:00 a.m. at Many Forks Baptist Church with Rev. R.L. Martin and Rev.
Ronnie Abernathy officiating. Pallbearers will be Carroll Williamson,
Bruce Black, Perry Carringer, John Gibson, Tony Shook and Robert Dye.
Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be at Many
Forks Baptist Church Tuesday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Many Forks
Baptist Church Cemetery Fund.

Mrs. Dorothy J. Ledford age 77 of Oak Forest Hills Rd. Hayesville, NC.
Passed away on Saturday Jan.7, 2012 in the Clay County care Center
following an extended illness. Mrs. Ledford was born on March 26, 1934,
the daughter of the late De Cater Bradshaw and the late Clara Henson
Bradshaw. Dorothy Loved the Lord, music, yodeling, reading and walking
and her son Mike and her grandkids were her life. She was preceded in
death by her husband, Claude Zeno Ledford, a son, Claude Kent Ledford ,
a great grandson, William, a brother, Cliff Bradshaw and a sister, Annie
Sue Ledford. Mrs. Ledford was a member of Mt. Parham Baptist Church.
Surviving Mrs. Ledford are one son, Terry Michael Ledford of Hayesville,
step daughter, Myra Lynne Dunne of Dawsonville, GA., three sisters,
Betty Jean Robinson of Atlanta, Margie McKenzie of Young Harris and
Opal Carnes of Young Harris, five brothers and four sister in laws, Jr
and Martha Bradshaw, Jack and Patricia Bradshaw, Jerry and Rita
Bradshaw, Leon and Maxine Bradshaw and James Bradshaw all of Hiawassee,
four grandchildren, Jason Brian Ledford, Gloria Jane Ledford, David
Joshua and Cody Joseph, five great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Ethan, Isaac,
Christopher Michael and Haley Marie, several nieces, nephews, many other
relatives and friends also survive.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday Jan.10, 2012 at 10:00am from
the Mountain View Chapel with the Rev. Curt Bradshaw and rev. Denny
Moore officiating. Special music will be presented by Rita Bradshaw and
Melissa McConell. Family members will serve as pallbearers. Interment
will follow at 2:00pm on Tuesday from the Kennesaw Memorial Park
Cemetery in Marietta, GA. The family will meet with friends at the
funeral home on Monday evening from 6-9pm.

Mrs. Betty Jo Fortenberry, age 79, of Wesley Mtn. DR,
Blairsville passed away Sunday, January 8, 2012 in Chatuge Regional
Nursing Home following an extended illness. Mrs. Fortenberry was born
September 25, 1932 in Blairsville, GA daughter of the late Joseph
Hightower and Nora Lee Everett. She was preceded in death by her
husband, Edmond Fortenberry, two brothers, Thomas Andrew Everett and
John Festus Everett. Betty Jo was of the Jehovah’s Witness Faith.
Survivors include sisters, Ina Jordan of Hiawassee, GA and
Martha Evans of Jacksonville, FL, brother Joseph David Everett of
Cumming, GA, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends
also survive.
No services are planned at this time. In lieu of flowers
make memorial to Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses Church.
