Mr. Tommy Lee Haynes age 50 of
Young Drive Blairsville formerly of Hall County passed away on Monday
October 27,2008 in Brunswick, GA. following an apparent heart attack.
Mr. Haynes was born on August 1,1958 in Lumpkin County, GA., the son of
Betty Jean Harkins Haynes and the late William Arnold Haynes. Tommy was
a loving father, son and brother and was a friend to many. At the time
of his death he was employed by Appalachian Enterprises of Blairsville.
Mr. Haynes was a member of the First Baptist Church of Scottdale. Surviving Mr. Haynes are his mother, Betty Jean Young of Blairsville, his step mother, Helen Haynes of Gainesville, one son, David Haynes of Blairsville, one step son, Chad Beck of Lula, GA., half sister, Susan Harkins of Suches, two grandchildren, Drelynn Hester and Cayden Pritchett, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Friday Oct.31,2008 at 2:00pm from the Mountain View Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Joe Nickerson officiating. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, David Haynes, Justin Fugel, Chad Beck, Harold Cooper, Greg Zeger, Moe Oliveria and Dewayne Oliveria. Serving as honorary pallbearer will be Ervin Jones. Interment will follow in the Jones family Cemetery. The family will meet with friends at the Funeral home on Thursday evening from 7-9pm. | Mr. Gearl Lee Burnett
age 65 of Gracewood, GA., formerly of Blairsville passed away on
Wednesday Oct.29,2008 following an extended illness. Mr. Burnett was
born on May 23,1943 in Union County, the son of the late Edley Burnett
and the late Alvia Mahaffey Burnett. He was preceded in death by a
brother, Eugene Burnett and a sister, Brenda Sosebee. Surviving Mr. Burnett are nine brothers and sisters, Thomas and Peggy Burnett of Blairsville, Alwaine and Lawrence Totherow of Blairsville, Franklin and Carneal Burnett of Buford, GA., Wanda Brophy of Jefferson, Norma Jean and Edward George of Stone Mtn., GA., John Richard and Barbara Burnett of Dublin, Junior and Brenda Burnett of Blairsville, Bonnie and Wayne Dills of Lawrenceville, David and Mary Burnett of Blairsville, sister in law, Wanda Burnett of Blairsville, brother in law, Randy Sosebee of Blairsville, several nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Saturday Nov.1,2008 at 11:00am from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Waymon Lovell and Rev. Chad Underwood officiating. Special music will be presented by Becky Rogers. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, George, Bill, Robert, Marc, Andrew and Lee Burnett, Eddie George and Wayne Dills, Jr. Interment will follow in the Philadelphia Baptist Church Cemetery. Mr. Willie Walter Murphy age 86 of Pat
Colwell Rd. Blairsville passed away on Monday Nov.3,2008 in the Erlanger
Medical Center following injuries received in an automobile accident.
Mr. Murphy was born on April 30,1922 in Cherokee County, NC., the son of
the late Luther Murphy and the late Hattie Roberts Murphy. He was a
lifelong resident of Union County. Willie was a loving husband, father,
step father, grandfather and great grandfather. He loved to sing and
play the guitar and harmonica. He was a wonderful friend to all who knew
him. He was preceded in death by his first wife of sixty years, Minnie
Lou Murphy, an infant son, Jerry Murphy, two brothers and six sisters.
Mr. Murphy was a member and Deacon of Jones Creek Church of God. Surviving Mr. Murphy are his loving wife of four years, Doris Bell Murphy of Blairsville, two sons and daughter in laws, Charles and Edith Murphy of Blairsville, Bud and Diane Murphy of Blairsville, three step daughters and two son in laws, Carol Gray of Blairsville, Brenda and Roy Lynch of Murphy, Michele and Dale Christopher of Graysville, TN., two step sons, Danny and John Mark Payne, both of Blairsville, four grandchildren, Shane, Daniel, Steven and Lydia Murphy, two great grandchildren, Taylor Michelle and Kane Eli Murphy, several step grandchildren and great grandchildren, many other relatives and friends also survive. Funeral services will be held on Thursday Nov.6,2008 from the funeral home chapel with the Rev. Terrell Jones and Rev. Jerry Helton officiating. Special music will be presented by Tommy Murphy, Sara Wilson and Michele Christopher. The following gentleman will serve as pallbearers, Shane, Steven and Daniel Murphy, Danny Payne, David Stiles and Mike Krigline. Interment will follow in the Providence Methodist Church Cemetery. | Mrs. Lois Z. Caswell
age 76 of Rock Creek Circle Blue Ridge formerly of New Jersey passed
away on Tuesday Nov.4,2008 in the Union General Hospital following an
extended illness. Mrs. Caswell was born on May 18,1932 in Jersey City,
NJ., the daughter of the late John Zaun and the late Hazel Gilliland.
Lois and her husband loved traveling to Maine. She loved children and
loved animals. She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Caswell in
2004.Mrs.Caswell was of the Presbyterian faith. Surviving Mrs. Caswell are one sister and brother in law, Patricia and Richard Ramsey of Port St. Lucie, FL., one niece, Shari and Jerry Kendall of Blue Ridge, nephews, David and Laura Boone of Lawrenceville, GA., Richard and Garnet Boone of N. Myrtle Beach, SC., Bruce and Trish Boone of Roswell, GA., many other relatives and friends also survive. A memorial service will be held at a later date and will be announced. In lieu of flowers if you wish, the family requests that memorials may be made to the Arthritis Foundation in memory of Mrs. Caswell.
